Winter in the Lakes Region is a magical time. Breathe in the crisp, clean air sure to make you feel alive. The snow gently covers the landscape and blankets the Belknap mountain range in spectacular fashion. Lake Winnipesaukee is every bit as awe-inspiring as its other seasons. Scenic drives through the winding back roads of New Hampshire’s Lake’s Region captivate and entice you to stay for a while and take advantage of the bounty that is Wolfeboro.

There is still so much to enjoy and to do!  For the outdoor enthusiast we offer easy access to downhill skiing, snowboarding, skating, tubing, sledding, ice fishing and snowmobiling on and around Lake Winnipesaukee. Enjoy nature’s bounty with 30k of well groomed cross-country or snow shoe hiking trails – we have two - the Abenaki and Sewall trails. For the truly adventurous take advantage of some un-groomed Nordic back country trails. And of course there is always shopping in the quaint picturesque village of Wolfeboro just steps from our front door.

Perhaps you are here to unwind and rejuvenate.  Relax and get comfortable, lose yourself in a good book while nestling in one of our oversized inviting lobby chairs as you enjoy the crackling fire and wafting aroma of apple, maple and pine.  Or sit beside our near floor to ceiling windows taking in the view, perhaps a sunset as you enjoy complimentary hot apple cider and assorted cookies certain to delight and surprise. For the ultimate respite, unwind with a massage in the privacy of your own guest room. From the deeply relaxing hot stone massage to the more traditional Swedish massage, our licensed LMT can ease and rejuvenate the body and soul.

Wolfe’s Tavern offers inspired traditional New England cuisine with a contemporary fare surrounded in the charm of an authentic 19th century New England Tavern. The Tavern boasts 3 working fireplaces an extensive beer list totaling 100 distinctive beers as well as a noteworthy wine list.

Testimonials

“Delightful stay - Wonderful Staff”

Beautiful suite looking out over Lake Winnipesaukee. Even in the winter with no snow it was idyllic. A VERY short walk in to town. The restaurant is in the building so no need to go outside in the cold (just stayed there - Jan 2-Jan 9, 2012). Fireplaces in the restaurant add to the cozy atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating, room service made the trip complete. Returning there again in May. Looking forward to it!

“Great Weekend Away”

My husband and I spent New Year's weekend at the Wolfeboro Inn. We loved the atmosphere, oversized furniture and the daily cookies delivered to our room and the next day weather forecast. A great location in town to walk to all the restaurants and shops. We ate at the Inn for breakfast and dinner. The food and service was great for a very busy weekend.
